Where can I find GPX routes?

You can download GPX files from our website here

Is it possible to do reconnaissance before the race?

Absolutely, but as some of our routes are on private roads, we don't recommend it.

Are the routes signposted?

Prologues are marked all along the trails. For the regular stages, there are no markings, so you'll have to find your way using a personal GPS-type navigation device.

Is it possible to ride in a group, and if so, is drafting allowed?

Yes, you can ride in a group on liaison stages and in timed sectors. Drafting is permitted.

Is it possible to skip a step?

Yes, but if the Finish hotel is different from the Start hotel, transfer fees will apply and must be paid locally. Please also note that in this case, the participant is excluded from the overall ranking.

Is an overall ranking proposed for the series of events?

No, only a general classification by event is proposed.

Do I need a federation license to participate?

No, absolutely not. The only document we require is a medical certificate issued within the last 12 months.

Are mountain bikes allowed?

Yes, but only if fitted with drop-bar gravel handlebars.

Are electric-assist gravel bikes allowed?

Yes, but only in the Swiss event, and they are not classified at the end of the event. They are not allowed in the other events (Cyprus and Portugal).

Do bicycles have to be fitted with lighting?

No, but since you'll be on open roads, we recommend it.

Are aero-bars authorized?

No, for safety reasons.

What is ''Cut off''?

Time limit to reach a point. If the point is not reached within the allotted time, the participant will be out of time and out of the general ranking. The time is set by race management and may be re-evaluated at any time depending on race conditions.

Yes, this is possible if the request is made no later than 14 days before the event. However, as the number of bikes available for rental is limited, we recommend that you make your reservation as early as possible.

What level of fitness and technique is required?

Aurora Gravel Rally Series is more about experience than pure performance. From very strong riders to occasional gravel enthusiasts, women and men, young and experienced, everyone will find something to enjoy. However, a certain level of fitness is recommended if you want to finish the stages with a smile on your face. On average, you'll cover 85 km per day and climb 1,250 m in altitude. From a technical point of view, although you won't encounter any major difficulties on the trails, it's advisable to be comfortable on a bike.

Can minors participate?

As the minimum age is 18, minors are not admitted unless accompanied by a responsible adult, in which case the minimum age is reduced to 16.

For any registration of a person under 18, please contact us by e-mail at the following address: ride@aurora-gravel.com

For events in Cyprus and Portugal, we include accommodation in our all-inclusive packages for logistical and camaraderie reasons, so it's not possible to use any other hotel service.
